Tornadoes target win over IfeanyiUbah

Niger Tornadoes coach, Abubakar Bala, has said his team are ready to beat Aiteo Cup holders IfeanyiUbah in their semifinal clash of the competition on Saturday at the Confluence Stadium.
Tornadoes host the first leg of the semifinal clash with the defending champions hosing the return leg in Nnewi on Wednesday.
Bala told journalists in Lokoja on Friday that despite the respect he has for IfeanyiUbah, he would ensure he gives the right instructions to his players to get the needed win.
I respect all coaches of the clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League, IfeanyiUbah included. But our focus is that having played them twice this season, we have seen their weak areas and we have worked on our own weaknesses to get a win over them,” Bala said.
“We will give them a good game here and get a win so that the second leg in Nnewi will also be equally interesting.
“Some people didn’t believe we could get to this stage of the Aiteo Cup, but we believed in the players we have and reinforced when necessary. Here is where it has taken us.
“We will play Saturday’s match with the caution it needs and ensure that we don’t concede any goal as we work towards getting the win. A goal at this stage from an away side could be detrimental to our dream of reaching the final.”
Tornadoes defeated NPFL champions Plateau United win 4-2 on aggregate to reach the semifinals while IfeanyiUbah eliminated ABS of Ilorin 4-0 on aggregate.
